Yes, please ignore me

It’s the same dream every night. Darkness all around but a dim light reflects on Edward’s pale skin. His back is toward me, slowly walking away and no matter how much I scream or run, he never turns around, and I never catch up. Leaving me alone in the darkness.

I find myself spying on Edward from a distance. It’s completely involuntary. I try to stop myself; only when we’re in Biology I pretend he doesn’t exist. I watch how his eyes grow perciptibly darker day by day. He never eats in the cafeteria and his adopted siblings always keep to themselves. I see them in the parking lot when they get in the shiny silver Volvo, it’s like they live in a different dimension.

Mike continues to follow me around in school. I remain composed, trying not to encourage him. Last thing I need right now is getting asked to go on a date. Valentine’s Day is coming up and Tyler, Eric, and Mike are planning something. I already declined, hurting their feelings in the process. I’m not not friends with Cupid and my so called friends are nice and all but Valentine’s is not my thing. Golden Retriever Mike seems more confident than before. He now sits on the edge of my lab table to talk before class, completely ignoring Edward sitting next to me. It’s almost as if Edward weren’t there at all. He ignores everything around him. It’s maddening but I hide it well. The snow finally washed away, leaving Mike disappointed. He never got to stage the snow ball fight. I on the other hand, am quite relieved. Rain is a lot easier to handle than ice and snow.
